Welcome to Girls on the Run of Central Michigan serving Isabella, Gratiot and Clare counties!!
July, 2014 –
We would like to introduce Samantha Fiani – our new Executive Director!
In Sam’s own words: “I have earned a Bachelor’s of Applied Arts in Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services and a Master of Arts in Recreation and Parks Administration from Central Michigan University. In my free time, I enjoy cycling (mountain and road), yoga, running (of course!), and volunteering with Special Olympics Michigan. I am thrilled to have joined the Girls on the Run team and look forward to a fantastic season to come!”
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
Girls on the Run of Central Michigan is an Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of 200 locations across the United States and Canada. Girls on the Run of Central Michigan serves schools in Isabella, Gratiot and Clare counties, and could not serve so many girls without the help of these local sponsors and donors!!!
